Jakarta LRT Phase 1B Project Prioritizes Connectivity and Sustainability

PT Jakarta Propertindo or Jakpro recorded that the construction progress of the Jakarta LRT Phase 1B project, which will connect the Velodrome to Manggarai, a distance of 6.4 kilometers, had reached more than 61.79 percent as of July 31, 2025.

PCI girder erection work has begun at several stations, including BPKP Pramuka Station and Matraman Station. Architectural and MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing) work is also underway at Rawamangun Station. Pier and pier head construction is currently underway at Pasar Pramuka Station and Manggarai Station.

"Construction in densely populated areas such as Manggarai and Matraman does have its own challenges, but thanks to intensive coordination between Jakpro and stakeholders, this can be controlled," said Ramdani Akbar, Jakarta LRT Project Director, Tuesday (8/5).

He said that the overpass work at the Wiyoto Wiyono Toll Road crossing, including bore pile, pile cap, and pier work, has been completed. Work is currently being continued on the pier head and the installation of the traveler form for the long-span box girder segment.

Meanwhile, in the Jalan Pramuka area, the majority of the pier work has been completed and is being continued with girder erection work as well as slab deck and parapet wall casting. Bore piles, pile caps, piers, and pier heads works are underway in the Pramuka flyover area, while in the Jalan Tambak area, work is continuing on casting slab decks and parapet walls.

He explained that the Jakarta LRT Phase 1B will provide faster and easier access for residents in North, East, and Central Jakarta. Furthermore, the development of this Jakarta LRT line is also an effort to create intermodal connectivity and reduce carbon emissions and congestion in Jakarta.

Ramdani added that the Jakarta Provincial Government's goal, through PT Jakpro, is not only to increase the length of existing routes, but also to build the foundation for Jakarta's future with fast mobility, integrated areas, and modernity.
